What is included in the price for the course?


You get access to the SWOC live-online course, the course textbook, the SWOC exam, CEUs, and the respective platforms used to deliver the course and exam.




What date is the course?


Our next online course will be e February 2-4, 2021.




How long is the course?


Day 1: Check-In is from 8:30 am to 9am PST Instruction is from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm PST - Welcome - Lectures:

How long will it take to receive the course materials?


It typically takes 2-3 days to get to you from when it is shipped. We send out the books the day you register.




Are there any breaks built into the course?


There are breaks throughout the course, as well as a lunch break. You can click here to view the course schedule.




Is this a live course or a go at-your-own-pace course?


This course is a live course, meaning that there will be an instructor present teaching the course. You must be present via the web during the course.




What do I need to register/take the course?


To register for the course, you will need to fill out the registration form. You will also need to upload a copy of your nursing license or verification of your nursing license. To take the course, you will need access to the internet and be able to be present for both days.




How do I get a verification of my nursing license?


You can get a verification of your nursing license by going to your state's nursing website and searching for yourself. You can take a picture of the verification, download it, or screen capture it and upload it to the site.




What formats are valid for submitting my nursing license on the registration form?


You can submit a PDF, a picture, a screenshot, or a scan of your nursing license or nursing verification.




Who can register for the course?


Any licensed nurse (LVN, LPN, or RN) in the United States can register for the course and take the exam.




Are there any CEUs given for this course?


There will be a maximum of 22 CEUs given for the course. You must be present for every lecture (attendance will be taken) and answer 100% of the questions in every lecture to receive the appropriate number of CEUs for that lecture. The CEUs are given by the California Board of Registered Nursing and are valid for nurses in all 50 states.




What platform will this course be on?


The course will be presented with TopHat in combination with Zoom. After you register, you will receive an email asking you to enroll on TopHat. You will receive a Zoom link among other instructions the week of the course.




Who can attend the online course?


Any licensed nurse (LVN, LPN, or RN) in the United States can attend the course.

Do I get a certification for taking this course?


You do not get a certification for taking the SWOC course. The certification is achieved by taking and passing the SWOC certification exam.




Who is teaching the online course?


The live-online course will be taught by Maureen Daly, RN, SWOC, our Corporate Nurse Educator. Maureen has over 20 years of experience in nursing and teaching nurses.




Does this course make me a wound care/treatment nurse?


This course does not make you a wound care or treatment nurse. The course will teach you a lot of the knowledge that is needed to be a successful wound care or treatment nurse, and the certification will also make you standout. However, you will need to apply for such positions.





 

EXAM

Do I get a certification for passing the exam?


You receive the Skin, Wound, and Ostomy Care (SWOC) Certification upon passing the exam.




Is the exam accredited?


The exam is accredited by the International Certification and Accreditation Council.




What do I need to do to be qualified to take this exam?


You need to take the SWOC online-course or have taken our course before and are a nurse who needs to renew their certification.




Is there a time limit for the exam?


You have two (2) hours to complete the exam.




How many questions are on the exam?


There are 100 questions on the exam.




What is the exam format?


The exam is all multiple choice.




What platform will this exam be given?


The exam will be given using Caveon’s software SEI. More information on this will be available shortly.




When do I take the exam?


There are certain dates and times that the exam is available. There are three (3) slots per date and time. 1. To view the schedule please click here. 2. Select from the available (green) slots. 3. Once you have selected, please click here to email our cordinator, Kevin, and confrim your reservation (kevin@skilledwoundcare.com.) *Please note: Only those who have paid are able to reserve their exam time.




How do I take the exam?


You will take the exam using Caveon’s software SEI. You will be emailed a link for the exam as well as a Zoom link for you to meet your proctor the week of the course. There will be instructions for the exam in the email.




How long is the certification valid?


The certification is valid for 3 years.




What do I need to take the exam?


To take the exam, you will need to have the following: 1. Laptop or Desktop computer with an internet connection (Phone or Tablet options are not acaliable for the online exam) 2. Windows 7 or higher, macOS 10.11 or higher, Chrome 58 or higher 3. A working built-in or external webcam and microphone. 4. A browser with pop-up blocker disabled 5. A form of government-issued identification (passport, drivers license, ID)

Is there a discount for a group of nurses?


There is no discount for a group of nurses. If you have any questions, please contact Kevin Guevara.




How much is the course for a new nurse?


The course for a new nurse will be $549. This includes the course, the course textbook, the exam, and all respective platforms.




How much is the course for a nurse who just wants to learn the material and not take the exam?


The price would be $349.




How much notice do I have to give if I want to cancel?


If you want to cancel, you must give notice via email by Monday, September 14. All cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee (fees incurred to us by any systems, including PayPal and any of the platforms used to deliver the exam and the course).




What if I want to pay with something other than a credit card?


If you would like to pay with a check or some other form of payment that is not a credit card, please submit your registration and ignore the PayPal redirection. Once you have submitted, you can email our coordinator, Kevin, and he will reach out to you with next steps.
